Concern that attempts to reach the national dementia diagnosis aspiration may result in inappropriate dementia diagnoses. Up to 50% of people referred to Memory Assessment Clinics are given a diagnosis of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI).
Several factors may influence including type of assessment, atypical dementia, early referrals for symptoms without loss of function
