Description
Neuropsychological evaluations are used to diagnose and measure difficulties in:
Cognition (memory, thinking, language and perception)
Behaviour and Social Functioning that may be due to anomalies in brain function.
Clinical neuropsychologists are trained to doctoral level in psychology and in neurosciences. They are often able to distinguish between a range of different causes of cognitive difficulty. Some of these causes are neurological, and some are due to the side effects of depression or worry. The evaluation can also measure the degree of impairment and determine how much below their usual level somebody is functioning.
