Description

Neuropsychological evaluations are used to diagnose and measure difficulties in:

Cognition (memory, thinking, language and perception)

Behaviour and Social Functioning that may be due to anomalies in brain function.

Clinical neuropsychologists are trained to doctoral level in psychology and in neurosciences. They are often able to distinguish between a range of different causes of cognitive difficulty. Some of these causes are neurological, and some are due to the side effects of depression or worry. The evaluation can also measure the degree of impairment and determine how much below their usual level somebody is functioning.



Our patients

Our patients include people with epilepsy, and with actual or suspected dementia, cerebrovascular conditions, brain tumour or cancer, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, hydrocephalus, traumatic brain injury, and a range of other conditions.

Referral Criteria

A neuropsychological assessment is usually triggered by a referral from a medical practitioner (neurologists, psychiatrists and GPs). We also accept referrals from nurse practitioners and psychologists. We don
