Description
The team provides a specialist neurotherapy service to all appropriate patients with neurological problems whilst they are in hospital. Commonly this includes people who have had a stroke, or with Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, Motor Neurone Disease or other brain or spinal cord injuries/pathologies.
The Neurotherapy Team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants who are all specialists in the assessment, rehabilitation and management of patients with neurological problems.

The team works really closely with other health professionals to ensure patients receive co-ordinated care multi-professional care. In particular they work in close collaboration with Doctors, Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists, Social Workers and Dietitians.The team has very close working with the Community Stroke and Intermediate Care Teams as well as other Hospital Therapy Teams.
We have specialists in the assessment, rehabilitation and management of patients presenting with neurological deficits and as a result difficulty in carrying out everyday activities.
Neurophysiotherapists specifically work with patients to improve the following
