Description

A specialist nurse is a qualified nurse who had acheived a specialist level of knowledge, experience and skill in a specific condition or area of health management. The specialist nurse is often the clincal lead for the service that helps to manage the symptoms and effects of the condition through the care pathway

Referral Criteria

TIA clinics are run every morning, seven days a week. We aim to see high risk TIA patients within 24 hours of their first contact with a medical professional, for example GP or paramedic. If patients are low risk we will see them within one week. Patients can be be referred to the TIA service using the referral proforma for TIA.
