Description
The Adult Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) department provides a service for people aged 16 years and above with acquired communication and/or swallowing difficulties. We see patients in the following settings: on hospital wards at The Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and Andover War Memorial Hospital; in outpatient clinics; in nursing and residential homes; in patients´ own homes if they are unable to attend an outpatient clinic.
Referral Criteria
How to Refer to Our Service We operate an open referral policy where referrals can come from any source: GPs; health professionals; individuals referring themselves, a relative or friend. Referrals are accepted by report, letter or telephone. Please see below for the relevant details. However, all patients referred for voice therapy must have first been seen in an ENT clinic for examination.
