Description
Phoenix Rehabilitation Centre is based on Ward F1 of Queen Alexandra Hospital. The service provides inpatient rehabilitation and consists of 11 beds, sited on an acute hospital site so patients can be managed as soon as they are medically stable. The rehabilitation team consists of two Consultants in Rehabilitation Medicine, Rehabilitation Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Neuropsychology and Speech and Language Therapists.
Referral Criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients should be over 16 years and of working age. The neurological condition should be the primary diagnosis. Nonresponsive or very severely impaired patients may be considered for a short admission to assess their rehabilitation potential.
Catchment area: All of Hampshire (including Portsmouth City).
Referral process: Referrals should be made to the Acute Neuro Team Brain Injury Nurse Specialist at Queen Alexandra Hospital (Tel 02392 286 000) or via one of the Rehabilitation Medicine Consultants
